University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn is the largest academic institution in North-Eastern Poland. The educational and research activities are organized within 16 faculties employing altogether 1 981 academicians. Students from Poland and other 30 countries make up a population of over thirty five thousands. They can obtain a comprehensive education in a wide range areas of studies such as: humanities, social sciences, pedagogy, law, administration, theology, fine arts, biology, medicine, environmental sciences, fisheries, mathematics, computer science, technical sciences, civil engineering, geodesy, land management, technical sciences, economics, management, agriculture, food sciences, and veterinary medicine. The majority of the University faculties is located in Kortowo, which is one of the most beautiful campuses in Poland with very well developed infrastructure, including modern laboratories, lecture halls, research and recreation facilities. Kortowo is surrounded by forest and about 220 acres of the Kortowskie Lake what creates great conditions for leisure activities.
