Hello! How are you doing? Hope, you’re fine. Thanks for the letter about your participation in the math contest. My congratulations on winning it! Sorry, I didn’t answer right away, but I have been very busy at school lately.
To start off, I want to tell you about the book that has greatly impressed me. My dad recommended me to read a book “Google” about Bill Gates. And now I understand that Bill Gates is a wonderful role model. A technologist, business leader, and philanthropist, Bill Gates founded and built the world’s largest software business, Microsoft. Gates wrote his first software program at 13 when he was a schoolboy. Although his parents wanted him to become a lawyer, he chose another way and became famous. Gates and his wife formed the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Today, this is one of the largest charitable foundations in the world. Like most successful businessmen, Bill Gates’ success came from a combination of hard work, intelligence, business sense, and luck. Gates constantly challenged his employees to work harder and innovate, but he also worked as hard or even harder than the people who worked for him. Gates also wasn’t afraid to take risks. He took a risk when he dropped out of Harvard to start his own company. However, his risks were calculated. He had confidence in himself and his product. He is a good example to follow.
As for me, I’ve always been keen on foreign languages and hope to become a real professional in this field. To be more precise, I’ve been thinking about working in tourism, because in this case I’ll be able to use my knowledge of foreign languages and have an opportunity to travel all over the world.
I’d like to say that if you want to be successful in our competitive world nowadays you should be ambitious and very hardworking. You will never achieve success if you don’t strive for it, so it’s important to set yourself ambitious goals. Besides, you have, first, to study a lot and, then, to work hard to go up career ladders. I hope I have the necessary qualities.

But now I understand that Michelle Obama is a wonderful role model. Although born in a poor family of former slaves, she managed to get a brilliant education and build a very successful career. However, when her husband became President, Michelle gave up her job to serve her country. Her main project was promoting healthy eating habits among American kids. She is a good example to follow.
